Dr. Detlev Ruland has more than 35 years of experience in advising and managing large companies.
His industry experience includes High-tech and Electrical Engineering, Energy and Utilities, Mail and Parcel Services, and Healthcare. His focus is on IT management, strategy, corporate development, and the management of retail sales.
In leadership positions in several large companies, he headed the IT function and in-house consulting at division as well as at group level. He has extensive experience in the development and management of large-scale projects.
Prior to joining THERON, Dr. Ruland spent over 15 years as CIO and divisional Member of the Executive Board of large companies such as RWE and Deutsche Post-DHL.
Dr. Ruland began his professional career as Head of Inhouse Consulting at Siemens AG. He then took over the management of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence before joining McKinsey & Company as a consultant.
Dr. Detlev Ruland studied Computer Science and Mathematics, and received his doctorate and habilitation in Computer Science. He is fluent in German and English.
